As a little girl I was obsessed with the Little Mermaid. I wanted to be Ariel so badly. I remember the halloween that I to to dress up as Ariel, it was probably the best day of my childhood. I continued to wear that costume to play in as much as I could after that Halloween. It had a crown and a red yarn wig that I would wear and style in different ways.
I was also so in love with the movie Splash. It was always an exciting weekend when that movie would the Sunday Night Movie on CBC.
Fast foreward to today, where my 4 year old daughter loves Mermaids. It began for her by watching a Barbie movie. She then wanted mermaid dresses and swim suits. I may have already had her in some Little Mermaid swim suits. I was ok with passing this love on.
I love watching her play with her friends and pretend they are mermaids and swimming on the deck on top of a blue blanket that she thinks looks like a pool.
A couple of months ago I got the inspiration to do Mermaid Minis. I tossed the idea out on my social media pages and had bookings instantly. So I went and ordered a bunch of Mermaid costumes that came with a fin. I ordered crowns, jewellery, and makeup. I wanted to make this experience as real as possible for anyone who ever dreamt of being a Mermaid like I did.
Now that summer is in full swing, my evening will be free for people to book and have their Mermaid Minis done. These sessions are not just for children. I have Mermaid Tails for people of all ages, and body types. I wanted to make these open to anyone who thought this would be a fun experience to live out their Mermaid dreams. Each session will result in 25 photos back per mermaid. Unlike other mini sessions, Video is also available for an additional cost. A real fun keepsake and way to share it with others. If you are on the fence about booking send me an email. mheryhurstphoto@gmail.com and we can arrange to have a conversation and I can help you bring your vision to life.
